WHAT IS COACHING EDUCATION?
Whether you are a beginning parent coach or an elite level travel team coach, the Indiana Soccer Association provides the latest US Soccer certification and licensing coaching courses in English and Spanish. US Soccer licensed instructors provide the latest coaching information, techniques and tools to help you handle the challenges of coaching in a fun, learning experience. License Courses and Youth Clinics are taught by top US Soccer-licensed instructors and participants can earn a US Soccer Youth Module certificate, an ‘E’ license, and national ‘D’ coaching license or certificate. In addition, a number of NSCAA courses are offered throughout the year at a minimal cost to members.

Thousands of coaches have attended Indiana Soccer licensing courses. The objective of the coaching licensing curriculum is to provide all soccer coaches, from the beginning to the advanced, with up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge, so that our member coaches can help ensure that players develop towards their fullest potential.

Our motto is: “Encourage the Will; Compliment the Skill”

Why are there different pathways?

US Soccer has now closed the coaching education pathway to be in compliance with Federations and Confederations around the world. US Soccer is the only entity that can offer a coaching education License. A License typically means that there is pass – non pass element to the course.

NSCAA offers the flexibility to choose their desired level of entry based on previous experience. Levels 1 – 6 offer unique material and can be taken in any order. (Some courses have a pre-requisite). We recommend that courses be chosen based on the age of the children being coached. NSCAA offers coaching diplomas of varying levels.

US Youth Soccer currently offer the National Youth Certificate which is a stand-alone award and recommended for coaches of players 12 and younger.

Begin with the end in mind. Where do you want to go with your coaching experience?

All of the coaching education pathways offer excellent information pertinent and relevant to the age of the children you are coaching.
