US YOUTH SOCCER YOUTH MODULE
Five hour course is recommended for parents and recreational coaches working with children in the ages of U6, U8 & U10. All applicants must be 16 years of age or older to attend course. The course provides a better understanding of the specific age groups and how to place players in age appropriate activities. Developmental characteristics of the age group are covered. The course consists of 3 hours of practical field work and 2 hours of classroom theory.
Candidates who attend the course receive an official US Youth Soccer Coaching Manual, Indaiana Soccer Lesson Plans, Coaching Articles, and a certificate upon completion of the course.

YOUTH TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE
Three hour course totally focused on helping coaches teach the technical skills players need to execute to play the game. The course consists of 1 hour of classroom work followed by 2 hours on the field and is highly recommended for coaches working with players between 9 to 13 years old as well as parents of players in these age groups. The three hour course is aimed to provide the candidates with more on the field activities which they can use immediately. Coaches must have attended the Indiana Soccer Youth Module course to be eligible to take this course.
The course curriculum is aimed for coaches to focus on the technical aspects of the game and candidates who attend will be guaranteed to always see different and new activities offered by the instructors. It is recommended that candidates attend the youth technical certificate course once each season as technical skills and activities provide the foundation for player development. Candidates who attend the course receive, a US Youth Soccer Skills DVD, Coaching Articles, a Indiana Soccer Pen and a certificate upon completion of the course.
This course has flexibility in its topic so if a member association wishes to have a specific subject address that is easily accomplished by simply requesting to Steve Franklin, Director of Coaching Education.

US SOCCER "E" LICENSE
Twenty Two hour (approximately) course, normally scheduled for a Fri (evening) Sat & Sun. The course consists of theoretical and practical instruction on the teaching of techniques and tactics of small -sided games between 1v1 and 6v6. The emphasis will be to build on the player's technical development by applying tactical concepts with game situations. All applicants will be assigned pre-course work which will be required to be completed prior to attending the event; these assignments will be sent out approximately ten days prior to the course starts.
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older to attend the course.
Prior to attending the course, candidates are required to review the USSF E License Candidate Guidebook. Pre Registration is REQUIRED for the E course, so make sure to sign up early - no onsite registration is available. Each candidate will need to complete the Pre Course Work Document. Any coaches that received a Not Ready Grade during the USSF “E” License course that wish to obtain the qualification can do so be follow the procedures for retesting.

Thirty-six hour (approximately) course typically held over two full weekends. The course consists of theoretical and practical instruction on teaching the four components of soccer - technique, tactics, fitness and psychology as they relate to games. Coaches are required to pass two written tests, oral test, and a practical field test.
Three outcomes are possibe at the "D" level:
1) Coaches can pass outright (National "D") and proceed to the National C course after a mandatory one year waiting period.
2) Coaches can earn a State Pass, this is classed as a pass and is only required to meet the minimal coaching education standards. Coaches wishing to retest for a National Pass must wait six months before retesting.
3) Coaches can fail the course.

Candidates who attend the course receive an official US Youth Soccer coaching manual, Laws of the Game booklet, a certificate upon completion of the course.

*A member is any coach or player who participates within a Indiana Soccer member organization. Non-members are those who participate through an organization that does not belong to Indiana Soccer. If you are unsure if you are a member, check to see if your local association is listed on our member directory, if they are listed, you are a member!
D License Waivers
US Soccer has instituted a new policy which does away with the "E" Licesne waiver into the "D" License course. As of January 1, 2013 - ALL candidates must have held an "E" License for one season prior to taking the "D" License course.

FUTURE COACHES PROGRAM 2012-13
The Future Coaches Program is designed for young adults (15-22 years of age) to gain insight into the world of youth soccer coaching. The six month program runs from December-May and allows FCP candidates to work "hands on" with the Director of Coaching Education, as well as a mentor, to experience what youth coaching is all about.
