Andrew Morin, Olympic Development Program Player Wins The "Tournament Logo" Contest

The Indiana Olympic Development Program (ODP) held a t-shirt logo contest for its sub-regional even held in mid-June. Several entries were received, each of them unique and amazing.

The following players were runners-up for the contest:

Colton McClure – 2007 Boys

Cali Castellarin – 2010 Girls

Addie Reding – 2009 Girls

Sophie Young-Neawedde – 2006 Girls

The winner of the contest was Andrew Morin – 2005 Boys. Below is a testimonial from Andrew about his time with ODP as well as his thoughts on winning the contest:

About Andrew Morin

“My name is Andrew Morin. I am entering my sophomore year at Zionsville High School and my 6th year in travel soccer. I am a goalkeeper. I love playing that position but it is a very lonely one. You are all alone for everyone to see your success or failure. Spectators and players are easy to pass judgement on you. It is a position that requires a lot of mental toughness. I struggled with mental toughness and confidence when I first began playing. Luckily, a friend was participating in the ODP program and mentioned it to me. I decided to give it a try and I am so grateful that I did. I've had the privilege of playing with some of the best players in the state. Not only are these guys phenomenal athletes, but they play good, clean, soccer with only positivity and respect toward each other. Even more, I've worked with some amazing coaches that demand excellence, but they do it in a very positive manner. Turns out that I thrive on constructive criticism and a positive environment. As a player, I've grown so much in my goalkeeping abilities, confidence, and mental toughness. I attribute so much of this to the ODP program.

ODP is special to me. When I heard about the contest to create the logo, I wanted to give it a try. Aside from soccer, I like cars and racing. I thought this logo was the perfect blend of 2 of my favorite things. Finding out that my design was chosen was really exciting. It was great seeing tons of players and spectators walking around wearing shirts with the logo I designed. I look forward to continuing in the program and seeing where my soccer career takes me!”
