Know The Rules
This will be an online FIFA 20 League with brackets in both Xbox One and PS4 categories. The event will be hosted on GYO with GYO integration for brackets, where players can sign up to compete in a round robin style event. Players will need to sign up with their email and Xbox Live/PSN username.
Format: The league will be round robin group stage league leading into single elimination bracket playoffs. Playoffs will be capped at 16 players and we can adjust how many players get out of each group based on signups, and split of Xbox vs PS4.
Reporting: Players will be responsible for self reporting match results. Players should be sure to record their match via the in console recording so that the recording can be reviewed in case of a dispute. If there is a dispute and neither side has any recording proof of the match result the match will be replayed. Should neither party accept the replay then both parties will be disqualified from the event. Reporting takes place on the (Insert GYO Link).
Match Day: Players will need to check in on GYO before their official league match. Check-in opens 1 hour before their set match time. Upon check-in, the player should reach out to their opponent and make sure they have them added as a friend in Xbox Live of Playstation Plus so as to be able to invite them to the match. The player whose name comes first alphabetically will host the match and be the home team in group stage games unless both parties agree in writing to change to the other player.
The player hosting the lobby must attempt to contact their opponent with an invite for the match within 10 min of the scheduled start time. If the opponent does not respond within that 10 min time frame, the host should contact the administrator with a recording of contact attempts to be granted a forfeit win. If a player is not contacted by their opposing host within 10 min of the start of a match, they must attempt to contact their opponent and invite them to a game. If these attempts at contact fail after 10 min, the player can submit proof of the contact attempt to be given a forfeit win.
Schedule: The league will consist of six (6) total league weeks which will consist of 2 event matches per week, on Tuesday and Thursday night. Match time begins at 8PM EST, and results must be submitted by 10PM Est the same night. If conflict exists for a player during a specific league match, a substitute time may be scheduled with consent of both participants. The Playoffs will be completed on the 7th week, before the league is formally concluded.
Playoffs: After the round robin group stage, there will be a maximum 2-day single elimination bracket playoffs. These will take place on a Saturday and Sunday. Saturday beginning at 12:PM EST and Sunday at 2PM EST, if required.
Cost: This league will cost $30.00 to compete in. Entry fee is due before signups close. Payment is collected via GYO.gg registration process.
Needs from League Admin: Admin will need to confirm all match results on each game night, and will need to handle any disputes. Admin will need to setup the next week’s matches or advance the bracket. Using GYO to send match notifications to next round of players. For Playoffs, the admin will need to be in contact with all participants and move through all matches on schedule to get them done in 2 days.
Admins will need to monitor and respond to questions and issues on the main event email and reach out to competitors to confirm match times, and attendance.

2. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

2.1 REGISTRATION DEADLINE AND ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICIAL RULES

3. COMPETITION STRUCTURE:
Group Stage:
Player will play all members in their group 8 player group (7 matches).
Playoffs:
At the end of the group stage the top 16 players out of all groups will compete in a single elimination bracket representing the Playoffs for the league.
3.1 Group Stage
Online group stage will be administered via GYO, and will require a GYO account to participate.
Groups Break Down:
16 players - 2 groups of 8- Top 8 from each group
32 players - 4 groups of 8 - Top 4 from each group
64 players - 8 groups of 8 - Top 2 from each group
3.2 PLAYOFFS:
The top eligible 16 Competitors from the overall groups will play a single elimination bracket
3.3 ENFORCEMENT
By participating in the event the user agrees to follow all rules:
The using any cheats, hacks or other third party "helper" applications in playing games;
intentionally disconnecting from the Internet during any game;
colluding with other players in playing games;
taking advantage of known exploits in the game (it is the responsibility of players to understand and avoid all current illegal exploits); or
selectively matching up against the same opponent repeatedly.
Abusive or disorderly behavior, including any use of harassing, negative, or profane language online, will not be tolerated and will also constitute grounds for immediate disqualification.
GYO reserves the right to disqualify any Player at any time, in its sole discretion.
4. MATCH RULES AND LEAGUE FORMAT
The following details league structure, match rules, player conduct and gameplay settings for the Group Stage and Playoff.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
The below Code of Conduct applies to all Competitors, unless otherwise specified. GYO reserves the right to levy penalties or disqualify any Competitor in violation of this Code of Conduct, in its sole discretion.
PLAYER BEHAVIOR GENERALLY
Players must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining an appropriate and respectful demeanor to spectators, members of the press, league administrators, and to other Players. All Players are expected to adhere to these standards of sportsmanship, including when not participating in the event. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
Interfering with or disrupting another player's participation in the Competition;
Harassing, threatening, bullying, engaging in hate speech, repeatedly sending unwanted messages, or making personal attacks or statements about race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.;
Publishing, posting, uploading or distributing content, or organizing/participating in any activity, group or guild that GYO (acting reasonably and objectively) determines is inappropriate, abusive, hateful, harassing, profane, defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene, sexually explicit, infringing, privacy-invasive, vulgar, offensive, indecent or unlawful;
Using exploits, cheats, undocumented features, design errors or bugs in the Competition;
Selling, buying, trading or otherwise transferring or offering to transfer an EA account, or any EA content associated with an EA account, including EA virtual currency and other entitlements, either within an EA service or on a third-party website.
Engaging in any other activity that significantly disturbs the peaceful, fair and respectful gaming environment of the Competition; and
Promoting, encouraging or taking part in any prohibited activity described above.
COLLUSION POLICY:
Collusion is defined as any agreement among two or more Players to disadvantage other Players in the Competition. Collusion between Players is strictly prohibited. Any Players determined by GYO at any point in the League to be engaging in collusion will be removed from the Competition, be forced to return any compensation and/or prizes received.
Examples of collusion include, but are not limited to:
Intentionally losing a match for any reason, either during Group Stage or at Playoffs on behalf of another Competitor.
Any form of match-fixing.
“Soft play,” defined as a Player not giving their best effort in order to allow an opponent to run up the score and gain a Goal Differential advantage.
Agreeing to split prize money (if applicable). - ????? NCAA Rules
Allowing an opponent to score more or less goals than they normally would through normal competitive play
PENALTIES
Violation of this Code of Conduct will, at GYO’s election, result in (a) penalty(ies) and/or (b) loss of winner status. All decisions and rulings of GYO relating to the Competition are final and binding. GYO reserves the right to penalize any Player in the Competition at any level, at any time for any reason. Penalties may include, in no particular order, any or all of the following:
Warning
Reprimand
Forfeiture of single match
Forfeiture of all matches
Loss of awards
Disqualification from the FIFA 2020 League
4.1 Group Stage MATCH RULES:
All Group Stage Play will use the retail version of FIFA20 Exhibition Game Mode. Players will have to add each other as Friends in the 1st party platform prior to playing. The default settings of the mode will be enforced automatically by the game, including difficulty level and allowable assists.
Additional guidelines that apply to all Matches:
Players should record all their matches using the built-in recording on their console or external recording device, these should be saved and available to be uploaded in case of dispute.
Players should not harass, message or in any way attempt to distract or direct others to distract their opponents.
Players should not manipulate their internet connection to negatively affect their or their opponent’s connection or gameplay.
Players should each have a light-colored jersey and a dark colored jersey and should choose the opposite of one another to avoid confusion. If Players can’t agree, the home player should choose a dark-colored jersey and the away player a light-colored jersey.
In the event of a disconnect, the game should be resumed with an implied score and the remaining time in the match played out.
Players will need to be available during scheduled play times to play their matches. The information will be made available on the GYO league website and via email to eligible Players.
Players should be prepared to report their scores immediately.
5. GAME SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
Each game will be played using the Friendly Seasons mode of FIFA 20 Exhibition matches with teams playing with their current roster per the latest FIFA 20 update, the default game settings. In the second-leg of each Match, the pre-match settings options will be used to set the aggregate score before the game.
