Indiana Adult Soccer Womens’ White Team Advances To Region 2 Tourney of Champions
The Central Indiana Soccer Adult Women’s teams enjoyed representing women's adult soccer in the 2021 Lauren Holiday Cup again this year. Our teams combined to create two All Star teams that competed against each other at 11:00 on Sunday, June 6.
"The teams represented a perfect cross section of our league . . . players of all ages and walks of life who have the common love of soccer and the drive to stay fit and still play at a high level. On the field were a few current college players, some lawyers, doctors, teachers, coaches and business-women. One of the players has a six-month old baby. Another was slightly late to the game, because her 12-year-old daughter was playing in the championship of a youth game on the next field." stated Jody Toth.
The game proved to be all that we had hoped for . . . fast action and some great soccer play. In the end, the white team pulled ahead with the victory. They will have the honor of representing the State of Indiana in the Region 2 Tourney of Champions at the end of July.
The Central Indiana Women's Soccer League has been around since the 1980s. Our goal is to support the sport of soccer and connect women with places to play, train, and stay fit. We try to find ways to offer soccer that fits the adult woman’s busy schedule. Our full-sided competitive open women's league plays in the spring and the fall.
“On June 6th Indiana Soccer hosted the second Lauren Holiday Cup. Even though Women’s Soccer has been active in the State since 1980 this is only the second State Cup Tournament. Indiana Soccer in conjunction with the Central Indiana Women’s Soccer League will continue to grow the Women’s game.” added John Mitchell, Adult Commissioner - Indiana Soccer Association
