Indiana Soccer wants to congratulate all the teams and players that participated in the 2022 US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championship this past week. A huge shout out to coaches, club administrators, parents, and players for all their hard work and effort that paid off dividends at Grand Park Sports Complex.

The annual event which was hosted at Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield Indiana saw 224 teams, over 4200 players, and 300 referees participate in the tournament. The winning teams from the Regionals Championship will advance to play in the 2022 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Orlando, Florida. The Nationals will begin July 19th.

We want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the great effort from the Indiana Soccer staff, US Youth Soccer, the referees, event organizers, sponsors, and volunteers including Jerry and Jane Little and the Indy Phoenix FC volunteers for their outstanding commitment to make the event a tremendous success.

Several Indiana Soccer clubs had outstanding performances throughout the tournament including Indiana Fire 03/04 Academy 1 earning a spot in the 2022 USYS Midwest Regional Championship. Congratulations to ECU 2005 B Maroon for earning a trip to the USYS National Championships through a 3-0 win in their qualification playoff. We wish them the best at Nationals!

It is worth noting that referees and players took a day off from their competitive schedule to participate in the US Youth Midwest Regional Championship TOPSoccer Festival on Monday June 27th. The event popularly known as the “Buddy Program” brought together 200 referees in the Grand Park Event Center as well as several teams to support at least 50 special needs TOPSoccer athletes thanks to Shawn Danhouser, US Youth Soccer, referees and the Indiana Soccer staff for helping organize the event.

“All of our referees were outstanding this weekend! So professional, prepared, and organized. It has been such a well-managed event” - noted one parent that attended the games.
