The Indiana Soccer Executive Director, Dave Guthrie would like to thank those that attended the first and hopefully last, all-virtual Annual Meeting and Workshops. It is such a privilege to serve the members of Indiana Soccer. The Annual Meeting and Workshops were well attended; however, we missed being able to celebrate a year of successes as we typically do during the annual awards gala. I certainly look forward to celebrating together at next year’s Awards Gala.
If your schedule did not allow you to attend some of the workshops, I encourage you to access a recording of those as your time permits. The soccer landscape continues to change, and it is advisable to access ways to manage those changes for the benefit of those you serve. Below are just a few of the recorded sessions that I believe deserve your attention:
2021 Data-Driven Decision Making Workshop Presentation Adam Kuhn
Decisions can be enhanced when coupled with solid data. Your state association is willing to pay the full cost of assembling and providing you with important data about your club and is equally willing to provide this information year-after-year for pennies per player. Technology In Sports
Our sport of soccer seems to lag in its use of technology. The type of affordable technology available to us is remarkable; from virtual assessment and training that is used by the top soccer clubs in the world, assessing and improving a player’s visual acuity, to assessing how to best support and motivate each individual player. I personally wish I had access to the TAPP assessment that is now available to all our players, when my sons were still at home. I am convinced it would have helped me in my role as their coach but more importantly as their dad. Watch The YouTube Presentation Video
MOJO
It is always tough to find folks willing to coach, especially at the entry-level. If we did not play soccer in high school or college, we feel ill-equipped to coach. As administrators, we want to ensure that the players entrusted to us have a meaningful and fun experience, especially for our entry-level players. So how do we balance the need to trust a novice coach with the needs of the children entrusted to us? Finally, there is an app that I feel comfortable endorsing. The app uses Disney-level technology; the expertise of trusted coaches, including Indiana’s own, nationally recognized expert, Vince Ganzberg. MOJO is free for those programs that offer one training session per week. The app only costs $20 a year per coach for those that want full access to multiple trainings per week. I encourage you to explore using this app for all your coaches. You can investigate at https://www.mojo.sport/
Zero Touch Concession
How do I generate more revenue with less effort? There is a way to accomplish this by implementing technology. Zero Touch is an app that allows you to increase your concession revenue while more efficiently managing, controlling, and more cost-effectively purchasing your concession inventory. It also enhances the safety of the concession process by making it “Zero Touch”. You can learn more by watching the recorded session on the use of technology here: https://youtu.be/eeXUYqfXuyw
