Michiana Echo Soccer Club Earns Their First Star in the 5-Star Program

Westfield, IN, Friday, September 20, 2019: It is with great pleasure that Indiana Soccer would like to take this time to announce that MICHIANA ECHO SOCCER CLUB has earned their first star.  Today, MICHIANA ECHO is being recognized for taking and completing the necessary steps to earn their HONORABLE GOVERNANCE Star.

Indiana Soccer introduced the idea and concept of the 5-Star Program about two years ago. The purpose of this initiative is to ensure legal corporate compliance and increase the capacity and quality of member clubs.  Member Clubs and leagues are invited to elevate their performance in a few fundamental areas in order to meet the criteria established to earn "stars" in those areas.  Once a member club or league has reached all 5 stars, they will be recognized and promoted for being a 5-STAR CLUB or 5-STAR LEAGUE.

Indiana Soccer published the 5-Star Program and corresponding checklists after investing significant time and resources in the program’s development.  These checklists serve as a guide with established benchmarks to assist in earning the respective stars.  The objective of this effort is for each member to become a more high-performing, not-for-profit organization with an enhanced capacity to serve their respective communities.  Indiana Soccer looks forward to promoting the clubs that earn this achievement.

"I have been working with the staff at MICHIANA ECHO on their 5 Star goals.  The club has submitted documentation to earn four (4) of the 5-stars.  We are in the process of reviewing it.  They are well on their way to achieving the others, but we wanted to share the achievement of the HONORABLE GOVERNANCE STAR now which has been completed.  Every star and step in the direction of earning those stars is important and should be celebrated. With just a little more work, MICHIANA ECHO could become the first club to achieve the full 5-Star status!  Indiana Soccer is looking forward to celebrating the first club that makes the full investment in this important program!”  Angel Hall, 5-Star Program Director, Associate Director - Indiana Soccer.

“It is truly an honor to recognize Michiana Echo for their commitment to ensure sustainability; to increase the club’s service capacity and the club’s purposeful commitment to be a professional and valuable member of their local community.” – Dave Guthrie, Executive Director – Indiana Soccer

" Excellence and leadership are both core values of Michiana Echo and qualities we seek to exemplify organizationally as we serve our families. We are grateful to Indiana Soccer for providing us resources through the 5-star program to benchmark our performance as a club. We fully embrace the program and appreciate the support of Angel Hall, David Guthrie, and the Indiana Soccer team as we pursue 5-star status.
