The Indiana Soccer Family wants to congratulate the FW United 2008 U16 Girls & FW United 2006/05 U19 Girls for earning their spots at the 2024 US Youth Soccer National Championships who have won back-to-back State Cup Championships.
The FW United 2008 U16 Girls & FW United 2006/05 U19 Girls teams earned the automatic qualifier by winning the USYS National League P.R.O. event this past February in Florida. The competition was high, the facilities were amazing, and the girls performed under extreme pressure. Both winning matches were 1-0 games with the 19s scoring with 4 minutes left. The experiences at the 2 events in Florida were incredible as the games all meant something, the girls were competing for a chance to represent their club and city at Nationals. Neither team competed in the regionals, as they had already advanced.
“The FW United 2006/05 U19 Girls have set and smashed goals year after year and committed to the process. They are a fantastic team with great leaders. They work hard, push themselves, live by our core values but the BEST thing about this group is how AMAZING teammates they are. They are relentless on the pitch and the way they celebrate each other and not themselves has been so fun to watch. They are the standard in our club on and off the pitch.” Claire Ward – Director of Coaching
“The FW United 2008 U16 Girls group has improved year after year. They have such a diverse team which makes them so special. They live by our core values and they respect each other. They have matured and trusted the process. They bring a lot of joy to those around them with their positive personalities and their willingness to volunteer in the community. I can’t wait to see them compete at Nationals.” Claire Ward – Director of Coaching
“We are so proud of FW United 2008 U16 Girls & FW United 2006/05 U19 Girls and the accomplishments that they have already made to get themselves to this place. Most of the girls, and also parents and coaches, have been together for quite a while. We have all watched our girls grow and develop as players and people and have formed some close bonds between us in the process. this is just so special to be able to end our time together like this, as many of the girls will be going onto college immediately after our trip to Nationals.” Gina Herald, FW United parent.
