The Indiana Soccer Family wants to congratulate the Hoosier FC 2008G Elite Wolves l (Girls 16U) for earning their spot at Nationals by first winning Indiana’s Presidents Cup and being a finalist in their Presidents Cup Regional Championship. The road to the 2024 US Youth Soccer National Cup Champions was rocked with a whirlwind of setbacks, emotions, challenging times, but most importantly tremendous growth.
“The team won a combined 2 games last season, and now look where we are. I could not be more proud of these ladies. They put together a set of core values and have held true to those. Through their hard work, attention to detail, and wanting to gain more knowledge of the game, they have been able to accomplish so much this season.

Going into the Indiana Presidents Cup we had held true to our vision and that was to give the best performance we all could individually and let the team aspect unfold as we played. We know we had a tough draw with teams in the state but playing one game at a time and looking at that result as something we can build upon.” stated Coach Sohaila Akhavein
Coach Akhavein mentioned that after advancing out of Indiana, the energy and positivity was on a new level. Going into training for the next round, the team knew they needed to clean up some details to make the team more competitive. When the team arrived in South Dakota for Midwest regionals, the ladies knew two things that were the most important for the team to become successful: Firstly, the team wanted to represent the club Hoosier FC to the best of their ability while holding true to the clubs’ values and mission and secondly, the ladies were so excited to represent Indiana.

“Now, having the opportunity to represent the Midwest Region……WOW, we are taking that opportunity and are running with it. This group of ladies have so much passion, excitement, energy, and overall care for each other. As their coach, I am happy to be able to stand next to each of them knowing they played a role in THEIR success. I want to thank all their families and loved ones who provided their support. I want to thank Hoosier FC for their continued dedication to player development and for the opportunities they give to players to be the best they can be. And most importantly I want to thank the players themselves and their former coach Allison Hasto. Everything that you all have worked for has become reality.” added Coach Akhavein.

“We are so excited for this next opportunity, and we are ready to represent Hoosier FC, Indiana Soccer, and ourselves as a team.” Coach Sohaila Akhavein
“Hoosier FC is very proud of the way the Hoosier FC 2008G Elite Wolves l (Girls 16U) has represented the club and the state of Indiana on this excellent run through the Presidents Cup. Best of luck to the players and the coaches at Nationals,” stated Tom Keenan, Director of Coaching Hoosier FC.
“We started in Indiana as the underdogs, but through hard work and determination, we reached our goal of making it to nationals. Every setback pushed us to work harder, and now we have turned what seemed impossible into our reality,” stated the players:

“This Hoosier FC 2008G Elite Wolves I team was enjoyable to watch. Not only was their play on the field exciting; but watching how the players, coach and families interact with one another was a pleasure to watch. Indiana Soccer is very proud to have this team represent themselves, their families, their club and their state at the 2024 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup Championships July 12-16 in Wichita, KS. Best of luck ladies and thank you!” George Perry, ISL Commissioner
