In recent weeks, Shay Stockstell, who plays for the 2012 Indiana ODP team and the Indy 11 North girls’ team, was named to the 2025 USYS ODP National Team. Last summer, Shay attended the ODP Midwest Regional camp in Rockford, Illinois, where she earned a spot on the Midwest Regional Team. This January, Shay and her Midwest team competed against teams from the East, South, and West regions. During the event, National Team coaches were scouting players, and Shay was selected to represent the USYS in the Easter International Cup, taking place in Orlando, FL, from April 16-19. We are incredibly excited and proud of all of Shay’s accomplishments. Below are some thoughts regarding ODP from Shay and her mom, Caity.
- What I like about Indiana ODP is I get high-level coaching and training. I’m able to meet the best girls in the state then play with and learn from them. I also like that I have made lifelong friends through the Indiana ODP program. – Shay Stockstell 2012 Indiana ODP
- At the Interregional Event, I was able to push myself to my limits. I did not even know what was possible. We not only got personalized feedback but got to experience things like watching team film, eating at team meals, and participating in a media day. It was the highest level of play I have experienced. I made so many new friends while there too.

- When I heard the news, I was just in shock and disbelief. I just could not believe that I made the National Team. -Shay Stockstell 2012 Indiana ODP
- At this time in Shay’s soccer career, we strongly believe in staying and playing locally in northern Indiana. Shay plays multiple sports and is not ready to commit to just one sport. Indiana ODP gives her the opportunity to stay local at our amazing soccer club, Indy Eleven North, while also exposing her to a high level of play and coaching. ODP has elevated her knowledge of the game, improved her technical and tactical skills, exposed her to high pressure games/tourneys, and provided guidance of how to pursue a future pathway in soccer. Her soccer development has been accelerated due to participation in ODP.
