U.S. Soccer Introduces New Educational Element Of Safe Soccer Clearance Program

U.S. Soccer is partnering with Positive Coaching Alliance on developing a 30-minute online module, Positive Soccer Environments, on how to nurture a healthy environment for teams.

The module will be part of the education program for coaches, referees, team administrators, parents and other leaders in the soccer community in U.S. Soccer's Safe Soccer Clearance program.

Other modules are SafeSport Core Training (90 minutes) on emotional, physical, and sexual abuse prevention, Safe & Healthy Environments (30 minutes) on how to recognize and respond to emergency situations and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (30 minutes) on educating participants on the harmful effect of biases, stereotypes, and microaggressions.

The Safe Soccer Clearance Program, a "green-lighting" initiative, will create a continuous vetting process. Participants will sign up through U.S. Soccer, producing a centralized public database of participating individuals that will allow the status of a participant’s Safe Soccer Clearance to be searched and tracked.
