The Futsal For All training workshop hosted at Wawasee High School, facilitated by Indiana Futsal Director Justin Becht and Indiana Soccer Director of Special Member Benefits John Koluder, provided a fantastic opportunity for about a dozen Physical Education teachers in the Wawasee School Community District. The dedication of Becht and Indiana Futsal has led to remarkable growth in futsal participation across Indiana over the last five years, with over 300 schools and more than 173,000 students now actively engaged in futsal activities in Physical Education classes.
The presence and gratitude expressed by Jordan Sharp, the Wawasee Men’s Varsity Soccer Coach & Physical Education teacher, underscore the positive impact of futsal programs on students’ lives. His recognition of the benefits of futsal in fostering excitement for soccer, enhancing student participation in high school sports, and providing a constructive outlet during the winter months highlights the broader impact of such initiatives on youth development.
Indiana Futsal’s commitment to bringing futsal to every school in the state, demonstrated by the donation of portable futsal goals and balls, reflects their dedication to expanding futsal opportunities in the Wawasee area and across the state of Indiana.
Elementary, middle, and high school P.E. teachers present had overwhelmingly positive takeaways from the event, with the session emphasizing the importance of using visuals to teach futsal effectively.
