The 2025 Veterans Cup, one of the nation’s premier adult soccer tournaments, brought together between 1,400 and 2,500 players, all aged 30 and older—including one remarkable 88-year-old who still laced up his cleats to compete! Over 200 fiercely competitive matches were played, and champions were crowned in every age division, highlighting the passion, skill, and lifelong love of the game shared by adult athletes from across the country.
🏅 Elite Officiating Sets the Bar
High-level play deserves high-level officiating—and the 2025 Veterans Cup delivered. Between 50 and 75 referees ensured every match was conducted with fairness, professionalism, and respect. Special recognition goes to officials Mark and Drew, whose dedication stood out throughout the tournament. Whether stepping in to cover additional matches, mentoring younger referees, or providing off-field support, they went above and beyond to help maintain the tournament’s high standards and smooth operation.
⚽ About the Veterans Cup
Established in 1998 by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), the Veterans Cup was created to provide top-level competition for men and women ages 30 and up. Today, it has grown into the largest and most prestigious adult soccer event in the nation, attracting nearly 100 teams and thousands of participants and supporters every year.
“The Veteran’s Cup, long regarded as the pinnacle of amateur adult tournament play in the United States, continues to highlight the passion, camaraderie, and enduring love for the game that adult players bring to the field. While competition remains central, it is the spirit of fellowship and shared experience that truly defines this exceptional event.
It is especially rewarding to see two of Indiana’s finest officials—Mark (father) and Drew (son) Emenhiser—not only represent the Indiana Soccer Family and more specifically, the Indiana State Referee Association with distinction, but also embody the values of service, humility, and professionalism. Their willingness to go above and beyond, honoring the players, administrators, and the game itself, stands as a testament to their character and commitment. We are proud of their contributions both on and off the field and grateful for the positive impact they made on this celebrated gathering of the soccer community,” stated Dave Guthrie, Indiana Soccer Executive Director
