- It is also important to note that in September of 1996 plans were made to add a fourth German club (The German Heritage Society) to the German fest membership. However, prior to adding the German Heritage Society the German fest Committee decided to distribute the funds to each of original clubs. Because each of the German fest members was a 501(c) (7) organization, meaning they were organized for pleasure, recreation or other nonprofit purposes, the use of the funds had to be restricted to a use that promoted the “social welfare” of the community. The Fort Wayne Sport Club chose to donate their portion of the funds ($52,072.10) to establish the Fort Wayne Sport Club Youth Soccer, as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization and Hans was a member of the Club who helped make that decision.
